As more and more people start upgrading their Microsoft Office to 2013, one of the handy little features I have noticed in the Outlook calendar is the ability to show the weather forecast and temperature up the top.  It comes as welcome surprise as I spend a great deal of my time in Outlook and my wife is always asking me first thing in the morning what the weather today is going to be like.  Normally it’s off to the Bureau of Meteorology website with a slight groan internally as I check the weather and report back.

One thing I did notice however was that the default display for the temperature is in Fahrenheit even though I’m in Australia.  Initially I fumbled around in the regional settings in the control panel thinking that something had gone awry.  Nope, everything was correct there.  It turns out I should have looked a bit closer to home.

So for all of those who have been fumbling around trying to work out how to change the temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius in Outlook 2013, here’s how to do it.

Whilst in Outlook 2013

1. Click File
2. Click Options
3. On the screen that pops up Click Calendar
4. Scroll all the way down until you get the section titled “Weather”
5. Click the “Celsius” radio box and then OK.

Voila!  You’ve now got your temperature in Celsius.

I hope this saves someone today from pulling their hair out.  By the way, It’s a beautiful day in Sydney here today. Too good to be indoors 🙂
