Symptoms – You are having trouble with Windows File Explorer in Windows 10.  When you open up File Explorer you are presented with “Working On It” which never appears to complete.  Click on anything else whilst this message is displayed causes File Explorer to stop responding. The first step to resolving the problem is to run the system file checker to see if it resolves the issue.

To run System File Checker in Windows 10

Step 1

Right Click on the Start Button

Step 2

Click on Command Prompt (Admin)

Step 3

In the command prompt box that appears type in:

sfc /scannow
