If you are using the command prompt to set the time and type in the net time command you may receive the following message:
Could not locate a time-server. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3912.
If you are using a later version of windows such as 8.1 it is more than likely because the NET TIME command has been deprecated.
All you need to do is type the following in to the command prompt:
time
If you don’t want to be prompted to enter in a new time simply enter:
time /t
