If System Volume Information is taking up a large amount of space due to a third party backup product not automatically deleting the snapshots you can run the following command via the command prompt to restrict the amount of space used for snapshots in an emergency whilst determining the problem. The same command may work for other operating systems but has not been tested.
vssadmin resize shadowstorage /on=c: /for=c: /maxsize=300GB
