If you’ve changed the Remote Desktop Port<\/a> or added another Remote Desktop Listening Port<\/a>\u00a0in Windows 10 and your Firewall is active you will need to manually create a rule to allow incoming connection on the new port. \u00a0Here’s how to add a new TCP rule for RDP in the Windows 10 Firewall.<\/p>\n

Step 1<\/h3>\n

Open Windows Firewall. \u00a0Since you’ve managed to create an RDP port using the windows registry we’ll assume you know how to get to the windows firewall.<\/p>\n

Step 2<\/h3>\n

With Windows Firewall open click on Advanced Settings<\/strong>. \u00a0The Windows Firewall Advanced windows will open.<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/h3>\n

\"Add-TCP-Rule-Windows-Firewall\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Click on Inbound Rules<\/strong> in the left pane and then click on New Rule<\/strong> in the right pane<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/h3>\n

Check the\u00a0Port<\/strong> radio and then click on next<\/p>\n

Leaving the TCP radio checked type in the port number you changed or added for the RDP listening port. \u00a0Click on\u00a0Next<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 6<\/h3>\n

Make sure Allow the connection is selected and click on\u00a0Next<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 7<\/h3>\n

Choose what networks this rule should apply to on the next page and click on\u00a0Next<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 8<\/h3>\n

Give the Rule a name and click on\u00a0Finish<\/strong><\/p>\n
