Here’s how to add an Additional RDP Port to Windows 10. \u00a0Alternatively, here are the instructions if you are just looking to change the RDP port<\/a>. \u00a0Whilst these instructions were written for adding an additional RDP port to Windows 10 they also apply to most other version of Windows such as Windows 8 and Windows 7.<\/p>\n

Step 1<\/h3>\n

Open up the Registry Editor (instructions<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Step 2<\/h3>\n

Browse to the following registry key<\/p>\n

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Terminal Server\\WinStations\\RDP-Tcp<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/h3>\n

Right Click and choose export – save the file on your computer – give it a name like RDP-TCP-2<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/h3>\n

Close the Registry Editor<\/p>\n

Step 5<\/h3>\n

Right click on the file you saved and click on\u00a0Edit<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 6<\/h3>\n

As per the picture below change the key from:<\/p>\n

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Terminal Server\\WinStations\\RDP-Tcp<\/p>\n

to<\/p>\n

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Terminal Server\\WinStations\\RDP-Tcp-2<\/p>\n

Step 7<\/h3>\n

Close Notepad<\/p>\n

Step 8<\/h3>\n

Double click on your saved RDP-TCP-2 registry file to import the key back in to the registry<\/p>\n

Step 9<\/h3>\n

Open the Windows Registry Editor Again. \u00a0We will now change the Port for our new key<\/p>\n

Step 10<\/h3>\n

Browse to our new Key which we just imported. \u00a0i.e.<\/p>\n

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Terminal Server\\WinStations\\RDP-Tcp-2<\/p>\n

Step 11<\/h3>\n

Right Click on Port Number and choose Modify<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 12<\/h3>\n

Click on the\u00a0Decimal<\/strong> radio button<\/p>\n

Step 13<\/h3>\n

Change the Port Number to the desired value and click on OK.<\/p>\n

Step 14<\/h3>\n

Close the Windows Registry and restart the computer<\/p>\n

Step 15<\/h3>\n

You can now test out the new RDP port which you’ve just added to the computer.<\/p>\n
