The memory could not be read."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When opening a document in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC you may be presented with the following error message:<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Instruction at 0x76e3e1e1 referenced memory at 0x76e3e1e1. \u00a0The memory could not be read. \u00a0Click on OK to terminate the program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/The-Insruction-Referenced-Adobe-Acrobat-Reader.png\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-684\" data-original=\"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/The-Insruction-Referenced-Adobe-Acrobat-Reader.png\" alt=\"The-Insruction-Referenced-Adobe-Acrobat-Reader\" width=\"515\" height=\"229\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To resolve this error usually involves one of two solutions.<\/p>\n<h2>Solution 1<\/h2>\n<h3>Step 1<\/h3>\n<p>Uninstall Acrobat Reader from the Control Panel<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2<\/h3>\n<p>Use the <a href=\"http:\/\/labs.adobe.com\/downloads\/acrobatcleaner.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Adobe Reader Removal Tool<\/a> to completely remove any traces of the program<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3<\/h3>\n<p>Restart the Computer<\/p>\n<h3>Step 4<\/h3>\n<p>Install Adobe Reader Again<\/p>\n<h2>Solution 2<\/h2>\n<p>If Solution 1\u00a0doesn&#8217;t work, disabling Protected view will usually resolve the problem until the root cause can be worked out.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1<\/h3>\n<p>Whilst Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is open click on <strong>Edit<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Step 2<\/h3>\n<p>Click on <strong>Preferences<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Step 3<\/h3>\n<p>Click on\u00a0<strong>Security (Enhanced)<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Step 4<\/h3>\n<p>Turn off protected mode and protected mode when starting up.<\/p>\n<h3>Note<\/h3>\n<p>If the following methods don&#8217;t work there may be other issues with the computer that need resolving.<\/p>\n<div style='text-align:left' class='yasr-auto-insert-visitor'><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When opening a document in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC you may be presented with the following error message: The Instruction at 0x76e3e1e1 referenced memory at 0x76e3e1e1. \u00a0The memory could not be read. \u00a0Click on OK to terminate the program.
