When double clicking on an Excel Spreadsheet using Excel 2016 you may find that the spreadsheet doesn’t open and only a blank page is presented. \u00a0This behaviour can occur due to installing Office 2016 from Office 365\u00a0BEFORE uninstalling previous installations of Office. \u00a0To resolve the issue, uninstall the previous version of Office and then do a full online repair of Office 2016 from the Windows control panel.<\/p>\n

Note: This can also happen if you’ve installed Office 2016, realized that the previous version of Office hasn’t been upgraded \/ left in place and uninstalled it. \u00a0If that’s the case you can simply perform an online repair starting at Step 4<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Step 1<\/h3>\n

Open the Windows Control Panel (instructions<\/a>). \u00a0Whilst in category view, under Programs and Features choose\u00a0Uninstall a Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 2<\/h3>\n

Right click on the older version of Office and choose Uninstall<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/h3>\n

Restart the computer<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/h3>\n

Open the Windows Control Panel again and right click on Office 2016<\/p>\n

Step 5<\/h3>\n

Select Change<\/p>\n

Step 6<\/h3>\n

Choose Online Repair and click on the\u00a0Repair<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n
