{"id":42,"date":"2015-03-15T03:55:13","date_gmt":"2015-03-14T16:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/?post_type=article&#038;p=42"},"modified":"2022-11-14T20:05:46","modified_gmt":"2022-11-14T09:05:46","slug":"how-to-set-up-google-apps-sync-for-outlook","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/article\/how-to-set-up-google-apps-sync-for-outlook\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Set Up Google Apps Sync for Outlook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When setting up your Google Apps \/ Gmail account as your email program on outlook, many people make the mistake of using the Outlook wizard to add the account. \u00a0Whilst this will add your Gmail business email to your outlook it will miss the exchange like functionality of syncing your Google CHalendar, Google Tasks and Google Contacts. \u00a0In this article we are going to look at setting up Gmail using Google Apps Sync for Outlook. \u00a0This will only work for paid Google Apps for Business accounts and not the free gmail version.<\/p>\n<p>These instructions are for those who are setting their Google Mail to Outlook sync with a newly created account and have no existing data to migrate.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Step 1. Download Google Apps Sync for Outlook<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tools.google.com\/dlpage\/gappssync\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/tools.google.com\/dlpage\/gappssync<\/a>\u00a0to download the latest version of Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2. Install Google Apps Sync for Outlook<\/h3>\n<p>Double click on the downloaded file and start installing. \u00a0If prompted, allow the program to install<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3. Sign In and Authorise<\/h3>\n<p>On the screen that pops up sign in with your google email address and click continue<\/p>\n<p>Your default web browser will pop up with the Google Sign in page. Enter your gmal address and password and click on sign in<\/p>\n<p>Scroll down the page after signing in and accept<\/p>\n<h3>Step 4.
