{"id":246,"date":"2015-06-20T01:26:09","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T14:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/?post_type=article&#038;p=246"},"modified":"2022-12-02T11:24:18","modified_gmt":"2022-12-02T00:24:18","slug":"pasting-clipboard-pastes-from-other-computers-clipboard-on-same-network","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/article\/pasting-clipboard-pastes-from-other-computers-clipboard-on-same-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Pasting Clipboard Pastes from Other Computers Clipboard on Same Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a perplexing Copying and Pasting issues that we had recently come across\u00a0in relation to copying and pasting other computers clipboards without any clipboard sharing software installed. \u00a0This was a security issue as one could imagine. \u00a0This was also happening between Windows and Mac Computers.<\/p>\n<h2>Issue<\/h2>\n<p>When pressing Control + V or right clicking and pasting on your computer the clipboard from another computer on the same network is pasted.<\/p>\n<h2>Diagnosis<\/h2>\n<p>After much verifying of software installed on each of the computers to ensure there was no rogue software installed which could be causing this issue we took a look at software which was common on each of the computers. \u00a0Because the issue was present across both Mac and Winodws computers it made it a little bit easier. \u00a0Apart from Microsoft Office the one program we found in common was Teamviewer.<\/p>\n<p>What we found was that each of the computers were connecting in to a remote computer in order to monitor a piece of production software. \u00a0What was happening was the built in Teamviewer Clipboard Synchronization was sharing the clipboards across all the connected computers.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution &#8211; Disable Teamviewer Clipboard Synchronization<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Teamviewer-Clipboard-Synchronization.png\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-245\" data-original=\"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Teamviewer-Clipboard-Synchronization.png\" alt=\"Teamviewer Clipboard Synchronization\" width=\"609\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Windows<\/h3>\n<p>Step 1. Open the Teamviewer window and select Extras and then options<\/p>\n<p>Step 2. Select Advanced<\/p>\n<p>Step 3. Click on the button \u201cShow advanced options\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Step 4. \u00a0Scroll down to option \u201cClipboard Synchronization\u201d and uncheck this option<\/p>\n<h3>Mac<\/h3>\n<p>Step 1. Whilst the Teamviewer windows is active click on Teamviewer and then Preferences<\/p>\n<p>Step 2. From the window that pops up click on advanced<\/p>\n<p>Step 3.
