{"id":1844,"date":"2023-07-28T12:44:12","date_gmt":"2023-07-28T01:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/?post_type=article&#038;p=1844"},"modified":"2023-07-30T16:45:00","modified_gmt":"2023-07-30T05:45:00","slug":"open-multiple-files-using-open-with-on-windows","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/4it.com.au\/kb\/article\/open-multiple-files-using-open-with-on-windows\/","title":{"rendered":"Open multiple files using &#8220;Open With&#8221; on Windows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So here&#8217;s the context.\u00a0 You want to open multiple files at once with a Program like Photoshop.\u00a0 Sure, if Photoshop was the default program for opening images you&#8217;d be able to select them all, right click and choose Open.\u00a0 The thing is, setting a resource-hungry program like Photoshop as the default for opening up every image on your computer would soon drive you nuts and because you selected multiple files, the Open With option is not available.\u00a0 So what do you do?<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Step<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Create a new shortcut to the app.\u00a0 There are plenty of ways you can do this &#8211; here&#8217;s just one:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the Start Menu.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the Apps list.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the app you want to work with and drag &amp; drop its tile onto your desktop to create a shortcut.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click on the newly created shortcut and select &#8220;Properties&#8221; from the context menu.<\/li>\n<li>A window will appear.
