Symptom<\/h2>\n

When connected via HTTPS and attempting to playback video recording using the Synology DSCAM IOS Application on an iPhone the following error is displayed:<\/p>\n

“An unknown error has occured. \u00a0This may be caused by an untrusted certificate. \u00a0Please install a trusted certificate on your Synology NAS and play again”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cause<\/h2>\n

Apple’s IOS doesn’t trust the self installed certificate on the Synology Diskstation<\/p>\n

Resolution<\/h2>\n

Install a trusted certificate or turn on “Play Video over HTTP” in the settings on the DSCAM app.<\/p>\n

To turn on “Play Video Over HTTP”<\/p>\n

Step 1<\/h4>\n

Click on the three bars up the top and then click on the gear icon<\/p>\n

Under “Video Settings” turn on “Play Video over HTTP” and choose the HTTP port which you have set up your Diskstation for.<\/p>\n
