Go to the Office 365 Compliance Admin > https:\/\/compliance.microsoft.com\/homepage<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 2<\/h4>\n

Click on Policies and then Retention<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/h4>\n

Click on New Retention Policy<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/h4>\n

Name the policy and then click on next<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Step 5<\/h4>\n

Choose either Static or Adaptive for the policy type.\u00a0 In most cases Static is suitable<\/p>\n

Step\u00a0 6<\/h4>\n

Make sure only Teams chats is selected and click on next<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Step 7<\/h4>\n

Choose your retention period, make sure “Delete items automatically” is selected and click on next<\/p>\n

Step 8<\/h4>\n

Click on Submit and you’re done<\/p>\n
